China – Dameisha, Shenzhen

A pause from the bustling pace of Shenzhen. In a seaside oasis near a small village, a residential complex rises, perfectly integrated into the cliffside, surrounded by wooded vegetation and sandy paths.

The goal was to create an essential space with warm colors. The only constraints on the project were the existing shell—everything else was completely transformed: new spaces, pathways, and views.

For furnishings, renowned brands like Giorgetti (furniture) and Flos (lighting) were chosen.

A total of 3,348 Roman travertine marble tiles, imported from Italy, cover the interiors of the living space: two floors and a rooftop garden connected by a fully clad iron staircase. The only exception to the marble is the teak wood, hand-planed and beveled for the bedrooms, further treated and protected for the terraces.

It is difficult to describe how, despite maintaining its original volumes, the building has been completely revolutionized.
